F.A.I.N.S.

F.A.I.N.S. stands for Friends of Almondbury Infant and Nursery School and is the parent/teacher association for the school. Made up of parents and staff, the group is a registered charity whose main aim is to raise extra funds whilst providing social activities for the families and staff at the school.

The committee meets every half term and tries to come up with new ideas on how to raise money. Some of the more recent successful events have included sponsored good deeds, funny face place mats, discos for both children and adults and of course the famous summer gala. One idea for next year is an indoor ice skating rink. However, if there is anyone out there with a tried and tested suggestion we would love to hear from you.

What do they do with the money they raise? Well some of the projects have involved creating something completely new: the pond in the school field and the coloured concrete animals in the playground. Others have been a little less ambitious: new computers, curtains for the hall and a contribution towards the new storage building for the early years unit to name but a few.

Finally, thank you for taking the time to read this page, feel free to check out the other pages and see the pond and animals in all their glory!

P.S. Did we mention that we paint those animals every year?
